Mosquitos

Mosquitoes, ubiquitous insects belonging to the family Culicidae, are renowned for their piercing mouthparts and role as vectors for various diseases. Found in nearly every corner of the globe, these tiny pests thrive in diverse habitats, from dense jungles to urban environments. Female mosquitoes, requiring blood meals for egg development, seek out hosts with their keen sense of smell, often causing irritation and discomfort with their itchy bites. Beyond being nuisance biters, mosquitoes transmit diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, and Zika virus, posing significant health risks to humans and animals alike. Despite control efforts, their adaptability and ability to breed in small, stagnant water sources continue to challenge public health initiatives worldwide.
